fleetingly beautiful

My favorite tree of oranges
(colored leaves that is)
is bare on top
its trunk surrounded by color on the ground.
Now that’s my favorite tree of orange
shaded to yellow.

There’s another favorite tree of oranges
shaded darker—
bronze and russet,
rust to red,
that’s still full …
for now.

All so fleetingly beautiful.
It’s no secret; you have to pay attention—
to appreciate what’s in front of you
while it is.
