what are you chasing that will catch you?

The PASSPORT children and youth camp theme this summer
is “Tag! You’re it!”

In church group conversation with our children,
our youth and children’s minister
raised the possibility of negative associations
with being chased—
with pursuit.

For it can in deed be a fearful thing.

God’s pursuit though of me
is but my opportunity
to see and to be
just like God—
rather odd
(in the world
as love unfurled).

Love pursues us—
chases us down—
to offer
opportunities—
opportunities to first
see possibilities for love,
to then seize possibilities for love
and to love—
to first see God,
to then be as God.

What we see
is what we’ll be.
The way we see is the way we’ll be.

So what are you chasing that will catch you?
