Up to 21! Woo-hoo!

Mammon
is the god of our culture.
We talk pretty about “the other God,”
but our living bows down to this monstrosity.

Our days (what we see and hear throughout them)
are transparent—thin,
but only given our attention.
Otherwise remaining opaque and thick.

Amazing what doctors and medicine can accomplish;
amazing what they can’t.
In between,
a maze we navigate
with hope and fear and trembling.

Don’t make my rich faith
look and sound like it’s uniform
in its varied perspectives.

Don’t let the drive to be right keep you from being loving.

Jesus knew Easter before Easter Sunday—
not as the experience of resurrection,
but as the truth of God.

More important than celebrating Easter:
living Easter.
