As evening comes upon us these fall days,
it feels later than it is.
It has to do with how early it’s getting dark.
Probably with the fact that it’s getting colder too.
And we feel more tired—
have to remind ourselves
there are hours yet to go this day.
So amidst our praying,
may we remember that too.
Remember though darkness falls
it is yet day—and that the darkness is as light to You.
Remember within the chill, the warmth of both love and hope.
Remember that as tired as we feel, it’s not that late.
There is yet time.
There is time for You—
for You to be You and to be with us.
There is time for us to recognize You, know You, name You,
and to look upon our circumstances,
in light of Your presence and Your love
and to know hope
and to thus live other wise.
