We gather this day
to take absolutely seriously
the stories and traditions of our faith,
and the minds with which you created us—
the internal conversation that’s part of our quest
for integrity and consistency—
through believing and thinking and experiencing.
We gather here in the expectant fellowship,
anticipating the introduction of more to our conversation,
ongoing discoveries and insights—
the ever-unfolding story.
We gather as a people
who continue to come to know ourselves
as those living into truth and grace.
So it is that we invoke
our minds this day—clear, logical, powerful;
we invoke our imaginations—vivid, strong;
we invoke our hopes and fears—honest, vulnerable.
We invoke the integrity of our whole selves
to Your presence among us now
and with us always
transforming us and our world
in and through the joy of Your mysteries
This we pray
in the name of the one
who still guides us
and still teaches us,
