three matters of choice

1. I choose that truth which can only be negotiated in conversation
not in soundbytes—
in confession, forgiveness and renewed commitment,
not in blame—
in the long view of the big picture,
not my perspective imposed.

2. I reject fear and violence, I do not deny them.

3. I choose the risk of grace, not the assurance of suspicion.
