reality is a commitment

Since the authentic presence of Jesus
manifests not only a revelation of God,
but also the revealing of truth
(including what’s true, though thought to be false,
and what’s false, though thought to be true),
the authority of Jesus’ presence
demands we tear ourselves away from a reliance
on our own perspectives
and allow God’s light
to illuminate and determine
what’s true and what’s real.
Reality is a commitment, a profession of faith,
and we trust God more than we trust ourselves.
So we say.
